Acceptable Use Policy
Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the permitted use of all services provided by DevEdge Ltd, including but not limited to:
- Shared Hosting
- VPS, VDS and Dedicated Servers
- Agency Hosting (Managed Infrastructure)
- Reseller Services
- Email and related services
This Policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
By using our Services, you agree to comply with this AUP at all times.
DevEdge Ltd reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate services for violations of this Policy.
Lawful Use
You agree that you will not use the Services:
- In breach of UK, EU, or international law
- To infringe intellectual property rights
- To commit fraud, phishing, impersonation, or deception
- To distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or malicious code
- In any way that may damage, disrupt, or impair our infrastructure or other customers
You are responsible for all activity conducted under your account credentials.
Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on any DevEdge infrastructure:
- Pornographic or sexually explicit material
- Hate speech or discriminatory content
- Violent or extremist material
- Harassment, abuse, or defamation
- Child exploitation content (which will be reported to relevant authorities)
- Copyright infringement or pirated material
- Warez, cracks, IP circumvention tools
DevEdge Ltd reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether content is in breach of this section.
Prohibited Technical Activities
The following activities are prohibited across all service tiers unless expressly authorised in writing:
- Cryptocurrency mining
- Torrent clients or peer-to-peer file sharing
- Proxy services or VPN tunnelling
- IRC bots or IRC daemons
- Automated scraping or crawling systems
- Gaming servers on shared infrastructure
- High-Yield Investment Programs (HYIP)
- Hosting content promoted via spam
Any activity that results in IP blacklisting, network abuse complaints, or reputational damage to DevEdge Ltd may result in immediate suspension.
Email & Anti-Spam
You must comply with all applicable anti-spam legislation, including UK regulations.
Prohibited email practices include:
- Sending unsolicited bulk email
- Email header spoofing
- Open mail relay configuration
- Hosting content advertised via spam
- Using the Services for mass unsolicited marketing campaigns
Accounts found sending spam may be suspended immediately without refund.
DevEdge Ltd may recover administrative costs arising from spam-related incidents.
Enforcement
DevEdge Ltd may, at its sole discretion:
- Suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice
- Remove or disable access to offending content
- Restrict services
- Report unlawful activity to relevant authorities
No refunds will be issued where suspension results from breach of this Policy.
Policy Updates
This Acceptable Use Policy may be updated periodically to reflect operational, legal, or infrastructure changes.
Continued use of Services constitutes acceptance of the current version.
