Fair Usage Policy
Service Categories
For clarity, DevEdge Ltd provides infrastructure under the following service tiers:
1.1 Standard Hosting Services
Includes:
- Shared DDR4 Hosting (AMD EPYC architecture)
- VPS
- VDS
- Dedicated Servers
These services may be unmanaged or partially managed depending on the selected plan.
Backup inclusion varies by plan and is not guaranteed unless explicitly stated.
1.2 Agency Hosting Services
Includes:
- Managed VPS
- Managed VDS
- Managed Dedicated Servers
Agency Hosting includes proactive management and defined backup services as part of the service agreement.
Shared DDR4 Hosting (Standard)
Shared hosting environments operate within controlled resource limits.
Accounts may not:
- Consistently exceed allocated CPU, RAM, or I/O limits
- Run persistent background daemons
- Run inefficient or high-frequency cron jobs
- Operate as file storage repositories
- Consume more than 10% of overall server capacity
If resource usage affects platform stability:
- Temporary throttling may apply
- Upgrade may be required
- Repeated breaches may result in suspension
VPS, VDS & Dedicated (Standard)
For Standard VPS, VDS, and Dedicated services:
- Resource limits are defined by the purchased plan.
- Clients are responsible for system configuration unless management is included.
- Excessive network abuse, spam activity, or misuse may result in suspension.
Backups – Standard Infrastructure
Unless explicitly included in the service plan:
- Backups are not guaranteed.
- Infrastructure-level snapshots are not considered client backups.
- Clients are solely responsible for implementing off-site backups.
Agency Hosting (Managed Infrastructure)
Agency Hosting plans include:
- Proactive server management
- Security monitoring
- Defined backup services
- Restoration support (within reasonable limits)
Agency Backup Provision
Agency Hosting includes:
- Automated server-level backups
- Defined retention period (as per Agency agreement)
- Offsite storage where applicable
Backup services are subject to:
- Reasonable storage limits
- Fair usage thresholds
- Account standing
While backups are included, clients are encouraged to maintain independent copies for mission-critical systems.
Disk & Storage Fair Usage (All Services)
Hosting services may not be used primarily for:
- Archiving
- File distribution
- Backup storage unrelated to website operation
DevEdge Ltd reserves the right to restrict file types or request plan upgrades where storage usage is disproportionate to normal website hosting activity.
Email Usage Limits
Unless otherwise agreed:
- Maximum 100 mailboxes per domain
- Maximum 20GB total email storage per account
- Bulk unsolicited mailing is prohibited
Excessive outbound mail may result in temporary suspension.
