Managed WordPress Hosting

WordPress hosting that's actually managed.

Most WordPress hosting gives you server space with WordPress installed. Ours combines a managed hosting environment with performance configuration, caching, security, backups and monitoring, with DevEdge there when you need hosting support.

What we actually manage

The hosting work we handle for you

Everything is managed by us as part of your hosting plan, so you don't have to manage the infrastructure yourself.

Talk to us about your site
01

Hosting environment management

We manage the hosting environment, server configuration and underlying hosting software, so you don't have to manage the infrastructure yourself.

02

Hosting security

We manage server-level security, malware protection and the hosting firewall, with Cloudflare providing an additional security layer in front of your website.

03

Backups & recovery

Automated off-server backups are taken daily, with weekly and monthly restore points retained for longer-term recovery if something goes wrong.

04

Performance tuning

LSCache, object caching and PHP settings are configured for WordPress, with hosting resources adjusted where appropriate for the requirements of your site.

05

Uptime monitoring

Your website is checked every 60 seconds from multiple regions, with automated alerts if it becomes unavailable so we can investigate.

06

Staging environment

A staging environment is available through WP Toolkit, giving you a safe place to test changes before applying them to your live website.

Migration included

Moving your WordPress site across

A standard WordPress migration is included with your hosting plan. We copy and test your site before switching it over, with the move planned to minimise disruption.

01

Review

We review your site's size, traffic, plugins and current hosting setup, then confirm the right plan and migration approach.

02

Copy & test

Your site is cloned to the new server and tested before launch, covering forms, logins, media, caching and key functionality.

03

Switch over

Once testing is complete, DNS is switched with SSL in place and the migration is scheduled to minimise disruption.

04

Monitor

We monitor the site closely after the move and fine-tune caching or hosting configuration where required.

Questions

Managed WordPress hosting FAQs

The practical questions we get asked before a move.

Ask a question
Do you manage WordPress core, plugin and theme updates?

WordPress maintenance isn't included with hosting alone. If you'd like us to manage core, plugin and theme updates, compatibility issues and ongoing maintenance, this is available through our Website Support plans.

What happens if something goes wrong with my website?

We'll investigate issues relating to the hosting environment, server, caching, security and availability as part of your hosting service. Problems within WordPress itself, such as plugin conflicts, broken layouts or application errors, may require a Website Support plan or separate chargeable work.

Can I still use my own caching or backup plugins?

You can, although they may not be necessary. Server-level caching and off-server backups are already included, and some caching plugins can conflict with the hosting configuration. If you're unsure, ask us before installing one.

Do you support page builders like Elementor, Bricks or Divi?

Yes. Our hosting supports WordPress websites built with popular page builders including Bricks, Elementor and Divi. Hosting support covers the environment they run on rather than troubleshooting or maintaining the page builder itself.

Do I get a staging site?

Yes. One-click staging is available through WP Toolkit, giving you a separate environment where changes can be tested before being applied to your live website.

Do I get WP-CLI or SSH access?

WP-CLI and SSH access can be provided on request where appropriate. Access may be subject to security controls depending on the hosting environment and plan.

Do you host WordPress Multisite?

Yes, although WordPress Multisite can have significantly different resource and management requirements from a standard WordPress installation. We'll review the network before migration and recommend the appropriate hosting environment.

What is the contract term?

Hosting is provided on a 12-month rolling contract, with monthly or annual payment options available. The service renews automatically unless cancelled with at least 30 days' written notice before renewal. Full details are set out in our Hosting Terms & Conditions.

What's the difference between Managed WordPress Hosting and Website Support?

Managed WordPress Hosting covers the infrastructure your website runs on, including server management, caching, backups, hosting security and uptime monitoring. Website Support covers the WordPress application itself, including software updates, troubleshooting, changes and ongoing maintenance. You can use either service independently or combine both.

What happens if my website outgrows this hosting?

We can move your website to our Performance Hosting platform or, for more demanding workloads, to managed VPS or VDS infrastructure. We'll recommend an upgrade when your site's resource requirements justify it.
